Don’t Blame Society

We hear day in, and day out that society is going to hell in a hand-basket.. People rail against the evils pouring from the vilest of sinners, the depraved and indifferent in Hollywood and the music industry. But why? Why should we be railing against the moral degradation of the spiritually inept?

Psalms 51:5 – Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

The natural man – is a sinful man.. There is no way around in.. The Psalmist says – “I was shapen in iniquity” – as the child is formed – he or she, or in the case of the Psalmist, HE, was shapen in in iniquity or sin. From conception, (despite what the pro-abortion murderers claim) the child is in sin. So how is it that they are to blame for following that which comes natural to themselves?

Or better yet, how can we as Christians, blame THEM for the downfall of a society WE have let go this far?!

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Now are we better than them?

1 John 1:8-10 states:

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.¹⁰ If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

We, even as born again Christians sin – even now.. However we are set apart, and are no longer in sin.. Complicated? It shouldn’t be..

However – we see something all too common these days.. And this is a lot of finger pointing.. People in the church gladly blaming government officials, rock musicians, movie stars and other persons for the evils within society. They bellow about how they are corrupting the youth, and inviting them into lives of sin and depravity. They are decried as normalizing insanity such as Sodomite marriage, transexualism, and abortion. However I contend, that although these things are a sinful abomination in the eyes of our Holy God, they are NOT the fault of those who live in moral depravity without salvation..

IT IS THE FAULT OF THE BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN!

Now before you run me out of town on a rail, boycott my website with disgust and flee into the innermost sanctum of your pew – I ask you to consider this.. How am I wrong? Jesus Himself said –

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Matthew 5:13 KJV

Ok – so who is the salt of the Earth?? Some would assume this was just the Apostles, (oddly enough) and that it no longer applies.. After all, the Apostle

Paul said to live ‘live peaceably with all men. Rom. 12:18’ so we must not make waves right??

I contend – no – I believe it is the Christians very duty to not only stand against such things as we see in society, NOT just by speaking out about it, but by winning the lost to Christ! This is the only answer, for if the lost come to Salvation they would NO LONGER be seeking to live in and normalize sin and depravity!

2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The church has barricaded its doors – and set itself up as a fort.. HOLD THE FORT! The sing and bellow – and I shake my head.. NO! It is FORWARD! WITHOUT THE CAMP! Hebrews 13:13 Holding the fort has gotten us into the mess we are in today.. Revivals are opted out of in favor of ‘preachers conferences’ and ‘missions meetings’. No longer does the church focus on reaching the lost and dying, and rather remains focused on the families that have been going to said church for decades, or fighting with another church over their membership – some form of auto-cannibalism.

It is time to go back to the OLD PATHS!! The paths of preaching sin to the sinner, hell to the lost, and standards to the saints. Christian, we need some old fashioned standards in out homes and our churches! Christians we need some hellfire and damnation coming from the pulpits! We need some God-Called evangelists preaching revivals again across the nations!

We cannot blame for society for what it is doing! They are in darkness following the works of the flesh and sin.. It is OUR fault we do not stand up – pray up – and go forth spreading the gospel as we did 20, 40, 60 years ago! The preachers we see are growing old – the old guard cannot do this for another 20 years!? We need those willing to follow GOD NOW! We need to be busy about the Lords work – and only then will we see any change in society! ONLY then will we see any sense of returning to morality! ONLY THEN will we see souls saved, churches grow, and families mended!

Or have we seen the end of this? Are we now to the point where we just wish to hunker down, and wait for Jesus to come back to get us? OH Christian I want Him to appear right now! But what about my neighbor!? What about your son?! What about your boss? Your mail-carrier? Your senator? Your kids schoolteacher??

 

1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Will Jesus Find Us Watching??

1. When Jesus comes to reward His servants,
   Whether it be noon or night,
   Faithful to Him will He find us watching,
   With our lamps all trimmed and bright?

     Ready for the soul’s bright home?
     Say, will He find you and me still watching,
     Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?
2. If, at the dawn of the early morning,
   He shall call us one by one,
   When to the Lord we restore our talents,
   Will He answer thee, “Well done”?
3. Have we been true to the trust He left us?
   Do we seek to do our best?
   If in our hearts there is naught condemns us,
   We shall have a glorious rest.
4. Blessed are those whom the Lord finds watching,
   In His glory they shall share;
   If He shall come at the dawn or midnight,
   Will He find us watching there?
