What if We’re Wrong?


“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (Eph. 5:15-16)

To walk “circumspectly” is to walk “cautiously” with “watchfulness every way.” I’ve chosen the Ephesians 5:15 text because that’s pretty much the theme of today’s message. We should always be on guard in every way, not just on guard against things from on the outside, but also continually checking and improving things on the inside.

Have you ever wondered if we might be wrong about the things that we believe? I have that thought cross my mind at times, not a lot, but it does pass through my mind on occasion. What if we are just plain WRONG about some of our most basic beliefs? What if the Bible is right, but our understanding of it is wrong?

Now, I realize that some proud and conceited brethren would never entertain such a thought. In fact, I often wonder if some of them ever entertain ANY thoughts of their own; but I certainly have such thoughts occasionally. Being human, I have been wrong about things at times, and I have had to repent and get things right, sometimes with my heart, sometimes with my head, and sometimes with both. So, in the spirit of I Thessalonians 5:21, it’s always good to conduct a bit of self-examining in regards to our beliefs and take nothing for granted.

You know, there are millions of professing Christians who think that basic fundamental Christianity is all wrong. I have a book in my library that condemns C. I. Scofield and everyone who has learned from him. The author even stated that all preachers should be required to attend seminary so as to avoid so many novices in the pulpits! In his view, that’s what Larkin and Scofield produced: novices in the pulpits. Like his Dark Age papal cousins, the man is all torn up over the fact that Larkin and Scofield placed Bible knowledge in the hands of common people instead of keeping it locked up for the elitist Nicolaitans. So, he and others like him are on a campaign to condemn all of us loose cannons and turn as many away from us as possible.

Such critics as the above author delight in dwelling on the technical points that they think will give them the winning edge of the argument(s), but what about the practical side of the argument? That is, even if we are wrong in some of our beliefs, WHAT HARM ARE WE DOING? I’ve checked my beliefs over and over very carefully, and I don’t think for a second that we are wrong, but for the sake of argument, WHAT IF WE ARE? Are we sending people to Hell? Are we producing infidels? Are we causing people to lose faith in God? In other words, even if we are in error, it is on the side of caution, not on the side of danger. By the grace of God, I’d like to illustrate this for you by addressing five beliefs that we embrace.


If we are to believe our critics, then true Bible study and understanding must rest upon access to the text of Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. This, of course, eliminates most people since they do not have, nor will they ever have, such access. Therefore, “true Bible study and understanding” is limited to the elites who THINK they have superior knowledge to the rest of us since they have access to “the originals,” or at least they can come closer than the rest of us.

Now, how does that approach edify the body of Christ as a whole? The common people are kept in darkness while the elites strut around claiming superior knowledge. These people have had nearly 2,000 years to get all of their Greek and Hebrew fragments together and produce a perfect Bible for everyone, yet they haven’t done so. They haven’t done so because THEY DON’T WANT A PERFECT BIBLE! That would remove all power from THEM and put it in YOUR HAND, YOUR HEART, and YOUR HOME! God forbid! Then you wouldn’t need THEM! Then you wouldn’t need their latest money-making translation. No, you would have YOUR OWN BIBLE and your own Holy Spirit to bear witness of the truth it contains (I John 2:27!). Why, who knows, you just might start learning and growing to be wiser than all your teachers (Psa. 119:99).

Now, would that be so bad? Would it be so bad if everyone stuck with ONE BOOK that God has blessed abundantly and everyone had copies of that one Book in their own home? I believe we are spot-on with our KJV position, but even if we aren’t, at least we’re erring on the side of caution and doing more good for Christ than the proud Laodiceans who have no final authority other than one another.


Based on a whole lot of Scripture, we believe that Jesus will soon reveal Himself to believers only by calling the church out of this world. Just as Lazarus didn’t have to wait until the “the resurrection at the last day” to be resurrected (John 11:24-26, 43-44), we will not have to wait until then either. That’s why Revelation 20:5-6 promises us the “first” resurrection over a thousand years before the last one. That’s why Jesus gives us John 14:1-3 and why Paul gives us I Thessalonians 4:13-18 and I Corinthians 15:51-52. We’re getting out of here, and it will be sooner, not later.

But what if we’re wrong about that? What if I’m all messed up with those verses and there’s just going to be one big general judgment day for everybody? If that’s the case, then all we are really guilty of is telling everyone to receive Christ SOONER rather than later! How is THAT such a crime?

You say, “Melton, you idiot, don’t you realize that all this rapture teaching is discouraging people from preparing for the Great Tribulation!” Of course I realize that, but it doesn’t matter because the Bible never told us to prepare for the Tribulation anyway! It tells us to be ready to meet the Lord, but it doesn’t tell us to be ready for the Antichrist! We teach about the Great Tribulation and all that comes with it, so we leave no one in darkness about what’s coming. If we’re wrong about the Rapture and we all end up in the Great Tribulation, we’ll know more about it than most everyone there and we’ll probably lead a lot of people to Christ.

But if our critics are wrong, a whole bunch of people are being misinformed and unprepared spiritually for what’s coming, and many will end up in Hell because of it.


The Bible is very clear in stating that a terrible period of time is coming on this earth. It’s called the time of Jacob’s trouble in Jeremiah, it’s called the seventieth week in Daniel, and Jesus calls it “great tribulation” in Matthew 24:21. You can read all about it in Revelation chapters six through nineteen, and it’s not at all a pleasant read. This old world is approaching some very perilous times, and the wisest people on earth are those who receive Christ and escape this horrible time that’s coming. I have believed that for nearly forty years, and, like most of you, I believe it today.

But what if we’re wrong? Just for sake of argument, what if we are all mixed up and the tribulation period has already happened or it isn’t literal at all? All we’ve done is tell millions of people to GET RIGHT OR GET LEFT. How is that a harmful message?

Or what if the Rapture is really in the middle or at the end of the Great Tribulation? Again, all we’ve done is tell people to prepare for eternity by receiving Christ. How can anyone go wrong by receiving Christ today instead of taking their changes for a few more years? If we’ve erred, we’ve done so on the side of caution with the souls of men taking priority.

But if THEY have erred (be they mid-tribbers, post-tribbers, or no-tribbers), then millions of people could take their chances and end up being unprepared for what Jesus said would be the worst thing this world has ever seen. If I have to carry a wrong to the day of judgement, I’d rather it be one that helped more people than it hurt. I’d rather err on the side of caution than on the side of carelessness.


I have a whole eight part series on the Millennial Kingdom of Christ running several hours in length, so please don’t doubt my views on the coming kingdom. I believe Jesus is returning literally to a literal earth to reign a literal 1,000 years. I believe it literally, physically and visibly. I have believed that since shortly after being saved in 1979, and I believe it more firmly now than I did then. I reject post-millennialism and a-millennialism, and I believe and teach the pre-millennial Second Coming of Jesus Christ, just as most of you.

But what if we’re wrong? What if God is all done with Israel and the church gets all the kingdom promises? No problem! We haven’t told anyone to wait for the kingdom anyway since we are already in the kingdom spiritually by virtue of the new birth. We’ve been preaching for folks to get saved and live crucified lives for Christ today so they can reign with Him IN the literal kingdom when it comes (II Tim. 2:12). If there’s no literal kingdom, then they’ll still go to Heaven and be rewarded at the Judgment Seat of Christ for their service (I Cor. 3:11-15; Rom. 14:10; II Cor. 5:10). They win either way.

But if our critics are wrong, then the Millennial Kingdom IS coming and many of their shallow followers will not be ready because of the urgency for preparedness has been removed by their false teaching. They will be unprepared, as will most of their followers. Again, if we have erred, at least it has been on the side of caution.


Personally, I question the intelligence of anyone who rejects dispensational teaching. To me, to hear a man say, “I don’t believe in dispensations” is about the same as hearing him say, “I’m a brainless idiot.” The reality of some level of Biblical dispensationalism is so obvious that one has got to have a few loose screws to deny it. Any child can see that Adam and Eve lived differently than we live today. Any sound-minded adult, saved or lost, can see that Christians living today do not offer animal sacrifices at a temple or a tabernacle, and most any Christian living today knows perfectly well that Noah and Abraham didn’t preach, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31) We can ague all day about HOW MANY dispensations there are and just HOW SHARP the divisions need to be, but to categorically deny dispensations altogether just isn’t very bright. I have believed in basic dispensational truth since the early 1980’s, and I believe it more today than I did then, as do most of my brethren who continually study the matter seriously.

But what if we’re wrong? What if somehow we’ve all just gone too far with this thing and there is no dispensation of conscience, no dispensation of human government, no patriarchal dispensation and no kingdom dispensation. What if the lightweights are correct in saying that it’s all the dispensation of grace? I think that’s insane, but, for sake of argument, what if that’s true?

Well, if that’s true, then we have still managed to get a whole lot of people interested in the Book, and we’ve helped a whole lot of people to make some sense out of apparent errors and contradictions in the word of God. How can that be a bad thing? We’ve given more people faith in more Scripture than the dispensational doubters could ever hope to give. The passages that they skim over or ignore completely are expounded on by us, and many have an increased faith in the word of God because of it. By teaching a sensible and balanced dispensational approach to the Scriptures, we have awakened thousands who had been put to sleep by the limited revelations of people like Matthew Henry and Adam Clarke. If not for the dispensational teaching of Larkin, Scofield and Ruckman, this preacher and writer may very well have remained in spiritual darkness believing that naïve and childish “soul winning” was all that really mattered in Christianity since that’s about the only thing that I was taught for the first few years of my new life in Christ.

I thank God for steering me in the right direction. When I prayed the second most important prayer of my life by asking God to teach me the Bible, I’m sure glad that He didn’t send me to Bob Jones University, Tennessee Temple or Hyles-Anderson. God answered my prayer by bringing me in touch with ONE MAN, a rock-solid KJV dispensationalist who was a real man, unlike the sissies I had been hearing, and he could teach more Bible in an hour than most could teach in a week. If my connection to Dr. Ruckman had never been made, I’d likely have lost interest in spiritual things and became a Sunday morning Christian at best. Dispensational teaching and rightly dividing hasn’t hurt me one bit. To the contrary, it has made ALL the Bible user-friendly to me and allowed me to feel at home in any of its 1,189 chapters, and there are thousands of other believers who will echo the same sentiment. If we are wrong, it has been largely for the better, and we have no regrets.

But if our anti-dispensational critics are wrong, then they will one day give account to God for keeping millions of people in spiritual darkness, often believing the entire Old Testament to be a “dead Book” that isn’t worth reading, believing that the book of Revelation is too complex for common people to understand, and then spiritualizing everything else in the Bible that they can’t comprehend.

If we’re wrong, then at least we played it safe and erred on the side of caution. If they’re wrong, then they have blundered terribly and caused tremendous damage to the cause of Christ and to the souls of men.

Spiritual Swimming


“Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side. And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins. Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.” (Ezk. 47:1-5)

The waters that issue out from the Lord’s house serve as a type of the Holy Spirit (John 7:38-39), and we learn that some of God’s people are ankle deep in the water of God’s Spirit, some are knee deep, some are loin deep, and some are swimming.

To swim is to have one’s feet off the ground and rely totally on skill and the mercy of the river. Both are important, and a man won’t do much swimming if either turns against him.

Having the feet off the ground, of course, points to the fact that the Christian ought to be heavenly-minded (Col. 3:2). The swimming has to do with moving and being productive for God.

In the account of Paul’s shipwreck, we read that everyone made it to land safely, but not everyone swam to land. Some just floated to land by hanging on to boards and broken pieces of the ship (Acts 27:43-44). That’s what’s going on in modern Christianity. All born-again believers in Christ will make it to heaven’s shore, but some won’t be swimming. They’ll be floating in on the broken boards of Laodicea: religious emotionalism, political correctness, religious correctness, contemporary worship, the ecumenical movement, campground Christianity, etc. There aren’t many swimmers around these days.

Abraham was a swimmer, but Lot was a floater. Lot was saved, but that’s about all he was, and that’s about all any floater is. If you want to be a floater, suit yourself. You’ll certainly have plenty of company. But you can be a swimmer, if you’d like.

I believe it was Jack Hyles who said there are three kinds of people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who don’t know what’s happening. The ones who make things happen are the swimmers. The rest are just floaters.

If you want God to use you to make things happen, you need to learn to swim. Floaters only float and watch. You need to do some swimming, if you plan to make things happen. Regardless of your gender, your size, or your age, you can swim for God, and He wants you to swim. Maybe a few pointers can be helpful . . .


You can’t learn to swim by watching or listening to others. You can’t learn it in a classroom. You must get into the water and learn swimming first hand.

By the way, that is always a step down, isn’t it? Whether you step down into a pool, down into the water at a beach, or you walk down the river bank or creek bank to the water, it is always a step down.

That pictures salvation in Christ. The sinner must humble himself by stepping down from his pride and self-righteousness and stepping into the kingdom of God by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ.

II Corinthians 2:14 says, “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” In Christ: that’s where the victory is, and that’s where you can do some serious swimming.

But some people never do learn to swim for that very reason: they won’t get into the water. Some don’t want to get wet; others don’t like the water temperature, and others are just scared. So they never learn to swim. The fact that others have adjusted and are swimming just fine doesn’t seem to matter to them. They simply refuse to get into the water.

Many sinners are the same way. They can give you a dozen reasons for not getting saved, but it all boils down to one simple fact: they refuse to step down in order to step way up.


I remember my father trying to teach me to swim. He couldn’t do it because I wouldn’t relax. He’d say, “Now, boy, you’re going to have to relax. I’m not going to let you drown, so relax.” It didn’t help a bit. I was as stiff as a board and would sink every time. I didn’t learn till I was probably in my late teens.

That’s like the Christian who spends his life doubting his salvation. He has a testimony just as solid as can be, yet he still worries about going to hell. You can show him verses on eternal security, but he still doubts his salvation. Did he (or she) pray right? Did he repent right? Did he believe right? His testimony doesn’t match that of someone else, so he thinks maybe he isn’t really saved. What’s wrong with a Christian like that? He refuses to relax and enjoy his salvation. Instead of swimming in the water, he keeps trying to figure out if he’s really in the water. He’ll never swim in Christ until he conquers that fear. II Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”


When you swim, the only part of your body that stays above the water is your head. The arms go in and out of the water, but the head stays up all the time, takes in fresh air continually, and leads the way.

So it is with spiritual swimming. Colossians 1:18 says, “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” A real Christian swimmer sees to it that his “head” stays up, and he regularly takes in the fresh “air” of the Holy Spirit. Christ must be exalted so that He might lead the way and get the preeminence in all things. If Christ is not preeminent, then you are not a swimmer. Like that bunch in Acts 27, you are a floater.

If you cover a candle, the flame can’t breathe, so you smother it. If you put your head under water, you can’t breath. So it is with the Christian who fails to exalt Christ in his life. The waters of this present evil world smother him, and he becomes a floater. Keep your head up.


You don’t swim because you’re in the water; you swim because you pull yourself through the water. This is done by continually reaching out and grabbing water and not stopping.

Some Christians never learn to swim spiritually because they never reach out and grab anything spiritual. They attend church and tolerate spiritual activity, but they don’t want it enough for themselves to reach out and take it. Consequently, they are nothing more than floaters.

Paul told young Timothy to “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” (I Tim. 6:12) A Christian swimmer must lay hold on eternal life. One can be on a horse and just sit there without holding on to the reins, but he won’t go anywhere like that. One can be in a pool and float around all day, but he won’t do any swimming until he starts grabbing some water. One can be in Christ without laying hold of eternal life, but he cannot be a good Christian swimmer until he starts claiming some promises and taking some spiritual strokes for God.

Proverbs 30:28 says, “The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.” The spider may have been in the kingdom already, but she wasn’t in the palace until she took hold with her hands. Friend, in material things, live on the least, but in spiritual things, reach out and grab all you can. Be a first class swimmer for the glory of God.


A swimmer’s arms and legs must keep moving. He doesn’t have to move them aggressively, but he does have to keep moving. It’s similar to riding a bike: you don’t have to work fast, but you do have to work steadily. As someone has said, “If you don’t go on, you’ll go off!”

Paul told the Galatians, “Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?” (Gal. 5:7) They had been swimming, but they stopped. Paul went on to tell them in verse 25, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” It doesn’t say to run in the Spirit, nor does it say to sit still. The command is to walk. Isaiah 40:31 says much the same thing. There are times for flying and running, but the normal day-to-day thing is walking: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Our Christian duty is to press forward day by day, not to reach a place of satisfaction and then stop. If we are going to be good swimmers for God, we must never yield to any temptation to stop moving forward. If we stop moving, we start sinking. That’s why these emotional-based Christians never amount to anything. When they start feeling good about their service to God, they stop. With them, it isn’t about swimming and getting somewhere for God; it’s about getting enough good feeling to sustain them for another week or two.

God help us to be good and faithful swimmers. Anything less is either floating or drowning, both of which are unacceptable to our Lord.

Independent Fundamental Sectarians

1 Corinthians 1:10 – Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

I wont gain any friends for this article – and that is alright, it is not my goal to make friends, or to make people feel good about anything.. My goal, my duty to the Lord is to put the truth out into a place that it can be seen, heard, and acted upon. I pray that this is read with the truth of God’s Word in mind, the leading of the Holy Spirit and a prayer in your heart for the guidance needed in this issue.

I would also like to say – this has been a difficult article to write.. One that I have worked on for several days, through prayer and seeking out guidance from the scriptures. So let it begin –

I Hail From Someplace

You have undoubtedly seen it somewhere – someone comes in on a whirlwind, preaching a great message, mighty things happen.. The pastor talks highly of this man of God, and the event is repeated yearly. Down the road however, there is another independent fundamental church. Their pastor is cordial to yours, however there is never anything that goes on between the two, and the congregants don’t really know each other. No one knows why, but they know that they are different, and not in a good way. There has never been anything BAD said about them, but they know there is just something a little weird going on.

What is it? Does one pastor have a different belief? Does one use a perversion of the bible? No – they both believe in the proper way of salvation, use the King James Bible and are preaching the same messages.. So what is the problem?

Pastor Joe*, graduated from Such-So* Bible College, however Pastor Schmoe* graduated from Something-or-Other* Bible College in that one state. For some reason, Such-So’s founder, and Something-or-Other’s, just didnt like the way the suit was worn differently on the other.. Or maybe they didnt think ‘Hold The Fort’ was to be sung as often as the other does. Either way, they avoid each other like the plague, and now their graduates have the same mentality, as do churches started or pastored by them.

I ask you – what is this nonsense?! Now I will grant you this one – ONE – caveat. If a preacher, teacher, pastor, deacon, Sunday School teacher, Author, college administrator – or otherwise titled so-and-so holds apostate doctrines, and teaches unbiblical lies, then this does not – and WILL NOT apply to them. This only applies to those who may have one or two odd quirks – but overall preach and teach the RIGHT way to heaven – the RIGHT KJB, and are trying to win the lost.

It astounds me to see pastors, grown men, who will denounce one another over the oligarchy found in a certain college. Whether it be the biggest one, a small one, a medium one, or otherwise – men of God, called to serve and win the world, will revile each other based on wherever they come from at some point in their life.

An old time evangelist, spent decades preaching great revivals across the USA from the 40’s up until the 90’s. Starting as a Southern Baptist, back when the SBC was not an apostate organization, the Word moved mightily and God won many to the fold. As time wore on, and the SBC turned its back on God, this old time evangelist left the convention. Despite this however, and the fact that his preaching was Fundamental, his affiliation was independent, and he was as biblical as one can be –  the Independents, the Fundamentalists, the ‘good guys’ shunned him. SBC churches would not call him as he was not within the SBC, IFB people would not call him because he USED to be SBC.

Vanity – Pure Vanity.

Because a preacher hails from a specific college, or even a specific mega-Baptist church means absolutely nothing.. Does it not? Was there not a well known Baptist preacher who claimed abortion was not murder? Was there not another Baptist preacher who kept being accused of sexual misconduct, and within his church it was found his successor indeed WAS guilty of such?

I do not care your pedigree – whether you learned from the best, who your daddy was, or God called you from the back of the church one Sunday morning – if you preach the Gospel, if you preach by the book – if GOD IS WITH YOU – then so should we be.

1 Corinthians 3:1-7 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

If you have a hero – they will have flaws, and if someone points out those flaws? Your level of defense will determine who you worship.

NOTE – There is an old concept of taking what is good and leaving the rest.. and I believe this applies. If a preacher wrote the best soul winning outline, but can’t quite seem to write out the right manner the rapture happens?? Take the outline and leave the rest!! If a preacher had a great sermon on standards, but had the tithing issue completely messed up, TAKE the standards and leave the rest!! Getting hung up on gnats and destroying the brethren only gives Satan another tool in his arsenal.

I Think That…

How many times do personal interpretations of God’s Words lead to strife within the church? How many times do personal opinions tarnish the work of a man of God, simply because preconceived falsehoods exist within the mind of a church, or a grouping of churches** –  and they act accordingly. Now, before you try to have me banned from every pulpit that exists, let me make this clear, I do not condone any sort of oversight other than Christ and the KJB that is above the local church and its pastor. That being said, it is perfectly fine to point out things that buzz as gnats to be strained at, while brethren bicker and souls go to hell.

Many churches have something embroidered on their uniforms, that is unable to be missed. It will likely be stated in the ‘What we believe’ section of their website, most likely buried under a hot button topic that really has no place there. Is it sodomy? Transgenderism? Women preachers? Hymns? No – it isn’t.

What may it be? You may be asking – is it women wearing pants?? I must admit that some of them do go that far, however it is not even that.. I will single out one however, as it is something that seems to be labeled as a crime against God, worse than any other, and seems to be the most hated act a preacher could commit, OR have happen to them.

Divorce… The dirty word that seems to doom preachers, or other pillars in the church to a fate worse than death. They become reprehensible to the church, to the preacher-boys, and to many churches that are seeking a pastor. Why is that? They all point to two things – first, the law, which was quoted by Jesus Christ –

Matthew 5:32But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Oh wait – sorry – that is the wrong one… Is it not? They do not point to that one – They point to this one –

Luke 16:18Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from [her] husband committeth adultery.

Now you may say – why on earth did you do this here? Is this pray tell a contradiction?? No.. It is not.. It is fully understanding what is going on.. However, Paul the Apostle was much more specific –

1 Corinthians 7:15 – But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

Legalism despises this.. Jesus said, that fornication and adultery were cause to justify divorce, and Paul said that an unbelieving spouse – who chooses to leave a believing spouse, releases the believing spouse from the law. So, for all intents and purposes, these two causes, should remove any stigma from the word divorce.

Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Now, there are those who will leave their wife, and run off with the church secretary.. This is not the type of divorce that is biblically sanctioned. I believe that any church that is seeking a pastor, and they find out a candidate is divorced, must ask for reasons, must seek out the truth of the matter, and then make a choice. After all, if a divorced man cannot be a pastor, then God cannot be God – right?

Jeremiah 3:8“And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.”

This is not limited to divorce however, as there are many who disagree on what soul-winning is.. They disagree on what an evangelist is, whether the rapture is coming, or so on.. However the main issues, are the small inconceivably stupid reasons which cause problems. However they all show up from a mans teaching or opinion, and stem from a twisted method of spinning God’s Word.

The Bible says that Judas Iscariot hung himself.

The Bible also says that Jesus said “Go thou and do likewise.

Jesus also said in a passage of Scripture “What thou doest, doest quickly.

By the logic of some, I have just proven that our Lord commanded us to go hang ourselves.. THIS IS NOT THE CASE.

With One Accord

The end of this rather long piece is almost here.. Just getting to the important part.

Philippians 2:2 – Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Romans 15:5,6 – Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Now – this is where the rubber meets the road, and it is the biggest point that can be made. We are to be of one accord, one mind, and one mission. While everyone is off chasing a program – (HINT HINT SBC) or chasing a mission board, a conference, or some other tiddly-wink, we have one thing we are ordered to do..

Matthew 28:19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Psalms 96:3 – Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

Let me ask you friend – what did Jesus come for? Did he come to venerate a college? Did Jesus come to pick one specific pastor or preacher? Emphatically NO.. He came to do what?

Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

That’s it.. He did not come to set aside a special college, or a special camp program.. He did not come to set up a hierarchy that decides what sort of person is a preacher – or what sort of person is not. He came to SAVE THE LOST. So what does that mean for US?? WE are to be out there reaching the lost. Yes – we are to be teaching the saved how to act, how to live right – but most importantly we are to be teaching them how to REACH THE LOST. That is our ONLY mission. Not to argue over a name – not to fight over a church..

I think – it is high time we returned to this mission. We do not have much time left.

I am not telling you that we should not have a method of teaching the young adults we raise about the Bible.. I am not saying a bible college is bad – I am not saying that using that which a well known preacher wrote is a sin, and I am not saying that STANDARDS are wrong.. But what standards do you have? Do you have standards that line up with God’s Word? Or is it something Brother Such and So pounded into your head every time the opportunity came up? It is not that difficult to get back into the right path.

There will be some that scoff at this.. Some who blow it off, or others who get downright mad.. I may never speak to some again because they do not like this… However – it is not my duty to tickle your ears.. Or in this case your eyes, but rather to tell you the truth. You may be guilty of one or many of the above.. You know what? That’s alright.. What you have been doing may have been wrong, but there is always a chance to get back into the fight..

And I always am honored to fight alongside my brethren – I know where I will be – Where will you be?

**I have to put this note in here – regardless of what many would want to believe, there are groups of IFB churches.. All hailing back to specific colleges as discussed earlier, or progenitor preachers who set the standards they are based on. They all fellowship together, preach the same stuff, go to the same camps, and ostersize the same people.

The Family In Christ

Genesis 2:24 – Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

From the very beginning – God, in His infinite wisdom, devised the building block of society. Marriage, the cornerstone of the family, which is the very basis of that which civilization is built on. Nothing effects the direction of the community we live in more than the health of the family. In the world today however, the family is sick – on it’s deathbed – and in need of urgent rescue.

Where do we turn, you may ask? Searching the internet reveals pages, upon pages, upon even more pages that tell you which marriage counselor to call, which steps should be taken to make your spouse ‘want’ you more, or which divorce attorney you should call to fight for your individual rights. The list goes on – with the world throwing so much noise at us, there is one thing missing.. Biblical perspective. This however seems to be dismissed out of hand – as it is far to ‘old-fashioned’ for the hip modernist looking for ‘help’. Meanwhile divorce rates are through the roof, unwed parents multiply like rabbits, abortion is skyrocketing, and abominable ‘families’ are forming faster than ever thought possible.

As the individual is no longer seeking God, the family is not properly following God, as the family is falling apart, society is becoming more degenerate, as society becomes more degenerate the individual is no longer seeking God.

So let us look into that which makes a proper family – or dare a say – The Right Family. Regardless of what psychobabble you have been told – there is a right way and a wrong way. Let us look at the right way – and if you are doing it any other way, you are doing it wrong.

Proper Makeup

Recently the biggest thing to besiege what is left of the family, is trying to change that which God had ordained since the beginning of the world. The fact that the family is to start with a man and a woman. The man and woman are separate individuals, are not interchangeable – and not to be confused with one another.


Deuteronomy 22:5 – The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

Matthew 19:4-5And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made [them] at the beginning made them male and female,[5] And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Now, despite the fact that some will use Deuteronomy 22:5 to preach for days on end about the evils of women wearing pants, (to you men who may think this to be appropriate, let me ask you this – will you go into the women’s department of Walmart and purchase a pair of pants. Wear them in public – or will you not protest that they are women’s pants??) the point of this passage is to prohibit what is commonly known today as cross-dressing, transgenderism, and that which encompasses the entire gender swapping abomination. The creator intended male and female to be separate individuals whom come together as one flesh.

I would ask the scholar, therapist, activist or abominable to point to the passage that condones male/male or female/female couplings and marriage. Jesus said in Matthew that God created them male and female in the beginning, and that the man shall leave his FATHER and MOTHER to his WIFE and become one. Notice the key parts to this passage? God created MAN to leave his home – consisting of a FATHER (Male) and MOTHER (Female) and cleave to his WIFE (Female). You CANNOT have a real family without PROPER MAKEUP.

In this essence – there is no discussion of bastard children, (before you rush out of this post – it is Biblical to use this term Deuteronomy 23:2 , Hebrews 12:8 ) or their acceptance. The idea of having a child out of wedlock is not prt of the proper makeup of that which is the right family. They are raised in a broken home, with no grounding, and no leadership towards the right way.

Proper Hierarchy

This is a hot-button topic in ‘society’ today.. From elementary school, television, and every form of ‘entertainment’ the indoctrination is in full swing telling us that there is no reason that a man should be head of the woman. They pontificate that there is no reason a woman is any less of a capable person than a man. Now, are women less than a man? No – however they are not the same as a man.. (No matter how much a woman mutilates her body, injects the improper hormones, or grows hair in places that make no sense, they are NOT a man.. Just thought I would get that out here.)

1 Peter 3:7Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”

Now does this sound as if she is less than the man? I think not – would a man, honour that which is lesser than he? Would a master honour the slave, or the spider the fly? Not hardly – however a weaker vessel, that which is weaker but no less worthwhile and precious would be worthy of such.. As well as the protection of the stronger vessel. This lays out the basics of the relationship of man and wife – we see that the Apostle Peter starts out however in verses 5 and 6:

5For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: 6Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

There is no doubt in my mind that if the husband and wife were to follow the old time method of the family hierarchy, that things would look much better in the world today than they do now.

Now this is something you will not hear every day – as it is something that gets people picketed, boycotted, sued, attacked, maligned and detested.. However I ask, why? If you are so sure of your inerrant method of looking at yourself madam, how is it that this would upset you so much? Perhaps it is a little bit of natural conviction that you are wrong?? Is it because there is a part of you that longs to not be chasing a career and instead raising children at home where you belong?

Titus 2:5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”

See, in sitcoms it is a running gag to have the husband be a bumbling oaf, and the wife is either a brilliant figure who controls through her husbands stupidity, or she is a domineering miser who controls him through money, nagging and the like. Where does this come from?

Proverbs 21:19 – It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

I must exclaim that it is not biblical by any stretch of the imagination. Looking back on first Peter 3:7, I must say that in a Christian home, if this is the case, then God is not going to be blessing that household very much..

Ephesians 5:33 – Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Ephesians 5:28 – So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

I Don’t Believe in Marriage!

Rebellion oozes from every syllable of this sentence.. Hatred and ungodliness are not far behind.. The battle cry of the modern era woman.. As she holds on to a child with no father, with no intent of making sure that this child HAS a father, and the intent to reproduce more in the same fashion.. What is this? It is sin… It is wrong.. And it is a detriment to the child that is now introduced into a world of depravity, as a result of said depravity, and little hope of escaping such.

They say with their jaw pushed out, and their hands on their hips, that this is something that they want to do.. They do not care what the bible says about it – they have no desire to listen to any counsel other than the thought of getting what they want. I have to say, it is a heartbreaking sight to see someone intentionally setting out to break the laws of God, and destroy a precious child’s future, all for their own selfishness.

You may say – preacher, is this something that you are just making up for effect? No – I am sad to report that I have seen one mother act this way in person, and have heard of many more.. I must say however – this is wrong.. Emphatically and wholeheartedly this is against the very thing that God ordained at the foundation of this earth.. The family – is being destroyed by those who are to be building it up..

Proverbs 14:1 – Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

No excuse by society will be adequate in explaining away what God says on the issue.. A wise woman buildeth her house, not pluck it down!! Can you have a Godly house without a mother and father? I must say emphatically NO! Now you may say – I do not care about being a Christian, nor do I care to raise my children within the standards (I know – such a dirty word is it not?) of the Bible – (KJB) – so this does not apply to me! I must then say – you are here for a reason.. I doubt this was merely a random visit. Do you not understand that this is something God wanted you to read today? Tonight? This week!?


There cannot be a person reading this that was not supposed to – for whatever reason.. You may be getting madder the farther down you have read.. Anger boiling as you think of me daring to say such vile things to you.. First of all, I do not know you, and second – I am writing this as God has put it on my heart. I fear Him much more than I do any comment, or hate mail I might get from you madam.

I ask you to consider what I am saying here – not because I want to be right – but because I want you – whoever you are – to be right with God.. and so I will lay out something – right here – that can help you..

1. GET SAVED! If you have never accepted Christ as your personal SAVIOUR – then this is your opportunity to do so.. CLICK THIS NOW!!!! After this – come back to this page. 

2. REPENT! If you are already saved, or have just accepted Christ (PRAISE THE LORD AND WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!!) YOU must see your sin as something that must be changed.. Paul said – 2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Male, female, doesn’t matter.. This is the start of a new life.. You must put on the new and get rid of the old.. With Christ truly in your heart, this will be easier than any faux ‘New Year Resolution’ or any sort of new leaf.. Take it to GOD – Repent of your ways and prepare for God to bless you.

3. Seek Guidance – This is the most important thing I can add to this. You need someone who is willing to guide you through the Bible to make and continue to make the right choices in your life. While this is not easy, I am willing to say that you should go to your local Independent, KJB preaching Baptist church. Or use my contact form, and I would be more than happy to help as the Lord leads.

Final Note –

There are going to be a lot of people who read this and dislike, or downright hate every word I have typed.. They will seethe with anger over something like this and wish all sorts of ill-will my way. It does not bother me – as I have not one stitch of ill-will directed at anyone who may read this – either with a positive or negative result. I just ask you to consider this –

If I am wrong, and the Bible is wrong as well, then what have you lost? You have lost nothing, and your miserable situation is just that – a miserable situation. However – if I am right, and God’s Word is correct – (As I wholeheartedly believe it is) then what have you got to lose?? EVERYTHING! Imagine a life that is functioning in a blessed and godly way! Imagine waking up and seeing life fall into place as God sees fit.. Imagine waking up the moment you die in a place of eternal joy and bliss – instead of a dark pit of everlasting flames!

I pray that this has been a blessing to those that have read it – and a seed to those that it may have not reached yet. I may be old-fashioned, but at least I know what I stand for.


Don’t Blame Society

We hear day in, and day out that society is going to hell in a hand-basket.. People rail against the evils pouring from the vilest of sinners, the depraved and indifferent in Hollywood and the music industry. But why? Why should we be railing against the moral degradation of the spiritually inept?

Psalms 51:5 – Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

The natural man – is a sinful man.. There is no way around in.. The Psalmist says – “I was shapen in iniquity” – as the child is formed – he or she, or in the case of the Psalmist, HE, was shapen in in iniquity or sin. From conception, (despite what the pro-abortion murderers claim) the child is in sin. So how is it that they are to blame for following that which comes natural to themselves?

Or better yet, how can we as Christians, blame THEM for the downfall of a society WE have let go this far?!

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Now are we better than them?

1 John 1:8-10 states:

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

We, even as born again Christians sin – even now.. However we are set apart, and are no longer in sin.. Complicated? It shouldn’t be..

However – we see something all too common these days.. And this is a lot of finger pointing.. People in the church gladly blaming government officials, rock musicians, movie stars and other persons for the evils within society. They bellow about how they are corrupting the youth, and inviting them into lives of sin and depravity. They are decried as normalizing insanity such as Sodomite marriage, transexualism, and abortion. However I contend, that although these things are a sinful abomination in the eyes of our Holy God, they are NOT the fault of those who live in moral depravity without salvation..


Now before you run me out of town on a rail, boycott my website with disgust and flee into the innermost sanctum of your pew – I ask you to consider this.. How am I wrong? Jesus Himself said –

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Matthew 5:13 KJV

Ok – so who is the salt of the Earth?? Some would assume this was just the Apostles, (oddly enough) and that it no longer applies.. After all, the Apostle

Paul said to live ‘live peaceably with all men. Rom. 12:18’ so we must not make waves right??

I contend – no – I believe it is the Christians very duty to not only stand against such things as we see in society, NOT just by speaking out about it, but by winning the lost to Christ! This is the only answer, for if the lost come to Salvation they would NO LONGER be seeking to live in and normalize sin and depravity!


2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The church has barricaded its doors – and set itself up as a fort.. HOLD THE FORT! The sing and bellow – and I shake my head.. NO! It is FORWARD! WITHOUT THE CAMP! Hebrews 13:13 Holding the fort has gotten us into the mess we are in today.. Revivals are opted out of in favor of ‘preachers conferences’ and ‘missions meetings’. No longer does the church focus on reaching the lost and dying, and rather remains focused on the families that have been going to said church for decades, or fighting with another church over their membership – some form of auto-cannibalism.

It is time to go back to the OLD PATHS!! The paths of preaching sin to the sinner, hell to the lost, and standards to the saints. Christian, we need some old fashioned standards in out homes and our churches! Christians we need some hellfire and damnation coming from the pulpits! We need some God-Called evangelists preaching revivals again across the nations!

We cannot blame for society for what it is doing! They are in darkness following the works of the flesh and sin.. It is OUR fault we do not stand up – pray up – and go forth spreading the gospel as we did 20, 40, 60 years ago! The preachers we see are growing old – the old guard cannot do this for another 20 years!? We need those willing to follow GOD NOW! We need to be busy about the Lords work – and only then will we see any change in society! ONLY then will we see any sense of returning to morality! ONLY THEN will we see souls saved, churches grow, and families mended!

Or have we seen the end of this? Are we now to the point where we just wish to hunker down, and wait for Jesus to come back to get us? OH Christian I want Him to appear right now! But what about my neighbor!? What about your son?! What about your boss? Your mail-carrier? Your senator? Your kids schoolteacher??


1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Will Jesus Find Us Watching??

Dont Judge ME!

1 Corinthians 5:12-13 KJV
[12] For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? [13] But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Some say ‘it is not my place to judge what others believe.’ And so I ask – why not?

We are to judge that which is done within the Church – and within the family of God.. why? To keep Satan out of our midst.

Some say we must not judge others for their choice of Bible ‘version’.. I say yes – Paul said we are to “judge them that are within”. What would this be? Those within the church, those within our families. These such things are part of keeping the body of Christ without spot and blemish.

Should we allow false perversions of God’s word within the Church? Within our families? No – so therefore we must judge those who are within.. The world? God judges them.. Not us.. However our church and our family we are to judge, and keep the sin and depravity of the world OUT of it.
