You may think I am insane – or old fashioned.. However your opinions do not change what the Word of God says… Which is, that there is an end to this life – and what happens to you at the end of this long road, is completely up to you.
Proverbs 14:12 says this – “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” What death is this? Is this the death of the body? In short – partially.. This also includes that which is called the ‘Second Death’. Revelation 21:8 says “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” All of us as humans fit into this verse in the Bible.. Without Exception..
Romans 3:23 -“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” There is no denying that we are all equal – not one of us is able to say we have done nothing wrong.
Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
We know – as an individual – that we are all sinners.. Headed for the death that is Hell. However, there is a GIFT – which is something that is given freely – and this gift, is eternal life – through JESUS CHRIST!
Ephesians 2:8-9 says – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Nothing we can do of ourselves can get us into Heaven – which is eternal life.
SO, you may ask – just how then, can I accept this gift? If I can not earn it, nor can I simply have it of my own will – WHAT CAN I DO???
Romans 10:9,10 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
There are only 2 things you must do to be SAVED –
You must do is truly believe that Jesus – the Son of God, was born on this earth, in the flesh.. Died on the Cross – suffering the worst punishments that anyone could have gone through, AND that he rose again on the third day. You must believe that this was done for YOU – and ACCEPT this gift that was bought and paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ.
You must confess – this means you must ASK for this gift. This would be most commonly referred to as a prayer – and it is quite simple.. Here is an example –
Dear Jesus –
I know that I am a sinner – and am lost without you. I believe that you are the only way to heaven – I accept you as my personal savior and accept you into my heart. Thank you for this gift!
Amen
